For general attendance questions or to send in a note, contact Mrs. Chism at 865-687-1712 or hayley.chism@knoxschools.org. Notes may also be dropped off in the front office or submitted on ParentSquare.

Per School Board Policy (JB), daily attendance is essential for learning. Knox County’s attendance policies encourage responsible attendance, allow make-up work, and help prevent excessive absences.

These absences are cumulative for the school year and apply to full-day absences. Students must be present 3.5 hours to be counted present for the day. 

Documentation must be submitted within 5 days, and families may use up to 10 parent notes per year for these reasons.Please provide court documentation for court absences and obituaries for deaths in the family.
